Be kind, Be real, Be human

Kindness is the language of our times. We should all learn to speak it.

It was Halloween and I found these packets of gummy teeth at the dollar store. Cheap and realistic looking. So much fun; they made for the best pictures. And of course our children and the neighborhood kids all appeared to need a jolly good trip, or two, to the dentist!

But let’s be kind! Because sometimes we do see people with squonk teeth, or missing teeth (I’m missing a few molars myself, to my dentist’s dismay), and large ears or big nose or skewed eyes. When we’re younger, we’re much more judgmental, I’ve found. Or is our society that pursues an endless perfection; which is so boring. The older I get the more I find people with interesting faces to be interesting people!

Everyone has a story, meet them where they are and listen to that story. Find out about them and what makes them tick, who they are, where they came from. It’s our differences that make us interesting. Who wants an endless selection of sameness? Polished perfection is so boring.
